Introducing Bugfarm New Zealand

Bugfarm New Zealand in a commercial insectary based in The Far North of New Zealand. We are a family run business that specialises in producing top quality live feeder insects. Our family have always had a passion for animals, having had many different reptiles, birds and livestock on our farm over the years.

Bugfarm New Zealand originally started small on Trademe as RaysBugFarm. Our goal was to produce quality live mealworms for exotic pets, to provide directly to customers. We then expanded into wholesale and pet shop orders and have since continued to expand our production capabilities to meet the demands of our growing customer base. We now ship mealworms every week to every part of New Zealand, from the top of the north island to the bottom of the south.

Customer satisfaction has been our top priority. Our current customer base includes a mix private pet owners, reptile breeders, bird breeders, pet shops, wholesale pet food providers as well as organisations involved in conservation and animal rescue. As our business continues to expand, we have decided to rebrand from RaysBugFarm to Bugfarm New Zealand, with the goal of diversifying our product range while continuing to specialise in producing large quantities of quality live mealworms. We have retail pack options available for stores as well as exciting plans to deliver some new products. You can expect to see some changes to our packaging and labelling for your insect orders as we proudly ensure we are utilising locally made and the most environmentally friendly options.
